Entry Fee: $225/team; includes carts and range balls for both players.

Eligibility: This tournament is open to male amateur members of MSGA member clubs (partners do not have to be from the same club). Each team shall have a maximum combined up-to-date USGA index at a licensed club of not more than 24.0. The handicap indexes must be at the member club shown on the entry form, must be current on the date of the event, and must be viewable on the verification site of GHIN.com. 

 

Entries are subject to rejection by the MSGA at any time, including during the competition.  The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct, such as violation of host club policies, or failure to comply with the requirements of the handicap system.

 

Refund Policy: A withdrawal made prior to seven days of the event will receive a refund minus a $25 processing fee. To withdraw prior to the entry deadline, players should do so through their Golf Genius user profile. After the entry deadline has passed players should call the MSGA at 410-653-5300 or email the staff in charge listed below. There will not be a refund if a withdrawal is received less than seven days prior to the event without a written medical excuse. All withdrawals are subject to $25 processing fee. 

Championship Information


Format/Field Size: The tournament will be 18 holes Four-Ball Stroke Play. The field will be limited to the first 50 team entries received on a timely basis. Additional teams will be placed on a waiting list.  

 

Carts: Automotive transportation is permitted for players and caddies. Cart fees are included in the entry fee. A player and his caddie may ride in a golf cart during a round, but both may not ride at the same time. For pull cart policy at qualifying site, please contact the host club. Spectator Carts will not be permitted during this championship with the exception of a spectator who can provide an issued and active Handicap Permit.  

 

Rules:  USGA Rules of Golf govern all play. The player is also responsible for being familiar with Local Rules and Conditions of Competition for MSGA Championships

 

Starting Times: Tournament Starting Times will be emailed approximately seven (7) days before the event. Times can also be found by visiting the 64th Maryland Four-Ball Championship Tournament Portal or www.msga.org.

 

Practice Rounds: Practice rounds can be scheduled by calling the Golf Shop at 410-745-5183. You must identify yourself as a participant of the Maryland Four-Ball Championship.  

 

Tournament Yardage: The official tournament yardage will be updated several days before the event.

Estimated Yardage: 6,700 - 7,000 yards

 

Withdrawals/No Shows: Players who fail to appear for their assigned tee time without notifying the MSGA before or on the day of a tournament may not be allowed to participate in future MSGA events.

 

Players failing to appear will be listed as a ‘No Show’. If a player completes a round and does not turn their scorecard in, for whatever reason, will be listed as a ‘No Card’. Players not completing a round for obvious or verifiable reasons will not be considered as a withdraw (WD) but rather will be listed as a ‘Did Not Finish’.

 

Prizes:  The MSGA will award prizes to the winning team with other appropriate prizes to be distributed. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole play-off will follow immediately upon the completion of play.
