About Celtic Manor Resort
Twenty Ten - Built to stage The 2010 Ryder Cup, the first course to be built specifically for golf’s greatest team tournament, The Twenty Ten measures a robust 7,493 yards off the back tees and has a par of 71. With water hazards on half of its holes, the course has six signature holes and presents many more memorable tests and risk-and-reward dilemmas. One of the features of the spectacular course is its variety with many of the earlier holes having a links-like feel with long rough and greenside swales, before the middle section reveals the full extent of the lake-lined challenge.
Montgomerie - he Montgomerie Course, designed by Ryder Cup star Colin Montgomerie. The course has played host to the Europro Tour in 2015 and is a par 69. The course offers great variety with many elevation changes and sloping fairways. The course has smooth fast putting greens with large undulations that will keep golfers on their toes.
Roman Road - The Roman Road Course which is the oldest course on site, opening in 1955. This mature course is a par 70, overlooking the Severn Estuary which provides great natural scenery to take in during your round. The course gets its name from the old Via Julia Roman highway that ran across it. This championship standard golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones and has held European Tour events and Senior Tour Events in the past.
Rules and Information
The event is played as a four-ball better ball format off 85% of your official handicap using stableford scoring under the rules of golf, and following WHS guidance.
As in any stroke play competition scoring putts must be holed, there is no such thing as a gimme in stroke play competition where you are playing against a field.
All handicaps will be checked online. Please have a certificate or Golf App available on your phone to show the team. You may wish to have a certificate on your phone available in case of issues as WHS is not always perfect.
Prizes will be sent out after the event either by email for vouchers or by post. There will be no prizes handed out on the day or any prize giving.
We permit the use of golf carts for medical reasons only. We accept self certification. Please arrange directly with the club.
