Golf Committee requests donation to COK Charity Classic

The Club's Charity Classic Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday September 8.

The Charity Classic is the club's official fund-raising charity event.  70% of the funds raised go to Humble Area Assistance Ministries (HAAM), an interfaith organization that helps Northeast Harris and Eastern Montgomery County residents in crisis by providing essential resources to move towards self-sufficiency. 30% of the funds raised go to Employee Care Foundation (EPCF), a 501(c)3 established to help Employee Partners of our family of Clubs in need of financial assistance in times of crisis.

To help in the fund-raising effort, the COK Golf Committee (comprised of Association Presidents and COK golf leadership) will assemble a basket of goods for auction at the event and asks that each Golf Association contributes so they can so they can purchase items for the basket.  Any amount helps and any amount is appreciated!!

Joan Rendl will be collecting any contributions during Playday check-ins Aug 22, Aug 29 & Sept 5 or contact her directly at 571-259-2240. She will compile the contribution from KWGA to the Committee. Look for a contribution box at your check-in location!

It’s still H-O-T

H is for Hydrate!

Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. Don’t wait until you are thirsty. Try taking a drink after every hole. Supplement your water intake with sports drinks containing electrolytes when you are sweating for several hours.

O is for Oh My!

I must be crazy for being out there in this heat!

T is for Time to stop!

Time for these triple digit temperatures to stop and get back to cool 90 degrees temps!

KWGA Purpose

All play shall be conducted in accordance with the rules of the United States Golf Association except as modified by local rules of the course.

USGA Rules

Rule 1 - The Game, Player Conduct and the Rules

Purpose of Rule: Rule 1 introduces these central principles of the game for the player:

Play the course as you find it and play the ball as it lies.

Play by the Rules and in the spirit of the game.

You are responsible for applying your own penalties if you breach a Rule, so that you cannot gain any potential advantage over your opponent in match play or other players in stroke play.

We should all be familiar with the rules of the game.

At www.usga.org/rules you can read the rules for free or purchase printed publication.

Or download the mobile app Official Rules of Golf to your phone.
