Scottish Junior Flag Championship
We are inviting you to be part of the Scottish Junior Flag Championship! Please read below to find out when the Carnoustie Craws Qualifier is taking place.

The Scottish Junior Flag Championship is an exciting event providing young golfers with fantastic playing opportunities in the early stages of their development.

Staged in partnership with the Paul Lawrie Foundation, Stephen Gallacher Foundation and The Junior Flag Challenge, the Championship is a series of regional events open to beginner level juniors, under the age of 12 (1st January 2023) and with no handicap. The aim is to introduce young players to competitive golf in a fun and relaxed environment through a ‘Flag Competition’ format.

 

There are three stages of the competition:

Stage 1: Club Qualifier – Carnoustie Buddon Course – Saturday 10th June – Tee times: 2.30pm-3.52pm

Stage 2: Regional Qualifier – Balgove Golf Course, St Andrews Links – Tuesday 25th July – Tee times: 12.00pm-3.00pm

Stage 3: National Final – Gleneagles - Saturday 2nd September

 

Information About Stage 1 Club Qualifier
Open to all Carnoustie Craws players under the age of 12 who are keen to experience some competitive golf and try to gain a place in the regional final. A maximum of 36 places are available in the qualifying event and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The leading four players on the day will be chosen to represent The Carnoustie Craws Team at the regional final.

Saturday 10th June 2023 – Carnoustie Buddon Course. Tee times: 2.30pm-3.52pm

Competition Format
Playing on a shortened 9-hole layout, players will start at the 1st hole and have 36 shots to play as many holes as possible placing their flag where their 36th shot finishes. The further round the course a player gets, the more successful they have been. Holes will generally be no longer than 170 yards and no shorter than 60 yards.
