Welcome to Storey Creek's Mens Club League 2023. We hope you join and enjoy the league with other like-minded golfers looking for Wednesdays April to September filled with challenges, laughs and camaraderie.

Our Mens Club is now in it's 35th year and still going strong!

  • Over the past two years we've had around 250 golfers join the league each year, with an average of 140 playing each Wednesday afternoon.

  • Since 2020 we have solely used tee times, beginning around 12:30pm with final tee time around 6:45pm when daylight allows.

  • Golfers can choose to play eighteen or nine holes.

  • Golfers receive an email invite each Thursday morning at 7am. By clicking the link, or visiting the Storey Creek Website at this time (or thereafter) they can sign their group up and select their preferred tee time. (www.storeycreek.ca/Events and follow the links).

  • Many games are played each Wednesday. Players compete for:
    • The Ocean Grove Liquor Net Points Race - NEW Best 18 point totals from potential 24 weeks all season
    • The Mt. Washington Alpine Resort Gross Point Race - Best 8 point totals from potential 24 weeks all season

New for 2023

In an effort to promote improved pace of play in 2023 we are introducing two new programs:

  • After 7 strokes, players will lift their ball and record an eight as their highest score. The Coastal Mountain Fuels Explosion Hole will be reworded as the Snowman Hole!
  • Players need to drop in at the Pro Shop after 9 and 18 holes to have their pace of play recorded. (The Pro Shop will record their start time).

When groups lose time on the group ahead, the Club Professional will communicate this with the players concerned. Continued poor pace of play will lead to the loss of tee time privileges within Mens Night.

New for 2023

In an effort to decrease the amount of players that are signed up to play prior to Wednesday from No-Showing

the Club Professional will create a list of players that cancel on the day of play. When the reports indicate that a player frequently no shows, therefore eliminating the opportunity for another player to play, then this player will lose their playing privileges within Mens Night for a period of time. Mens Club Executive to determine the length of time with Club Professional.

  • Players handicaps are calculated within the league. In 2021 and 2022 players would use the best two scores from their previous five rounds. New for 2023, players will use the best three scores from their last five rounds.
  • Players that are signing up for the 2023 Mens League, having played in 2021 or 2022 need to use the exact spelling they used previously. This is the only way that our handicap software can recognise the player. Example: John Smith played in 2022. Johnny Smith won't be recognised in 2023.
  • Players that haven't played in Mens Night before are unable to win dollar amounts or points until they have played two events. After two events the software will create a handicap index for the player. An exception to this is for players with a current Golf Canada index and a backlog of scores.

New for 2023

  • It is requested that single golfers hold off from taking a tee time at 7:00am on Thursday morning until foursomes have arranged their times. After a period of time has passed, singles can fill in twosomes and threesomes.
  • It is requested that golfers who are only able to play nine holes refrain from reserving the early to mid afternoon times where daylight would allow golfers looking for eighteen holes to complete their round. Please choose later afternoon/early evening times instead.

If there are repeat offenders of this rule, then the Club Professional will move these 9 hole players to later in the day.

Good practices:

  • Check with your friends on Wednesday night, ahead of Thursday morning signup. Confirm that they are able to play, and whether they can play 9 or 18. Shooting them a text takes 30 seconds at most.
  • If something comes up, go to our Mens League Portal and cancel your name out of the tee time as soon as you know. (www.storeycreek.ca/Events) and follow the links to Mens Club League.

In short, please respect that there are many golfers looking to play in Mens Night.
