Welcome to the Midsummer Madness 2023

Welcome to the Midsummer Madness tournament portal!

Initiated in 2022, golfers had a blast and the event looks like being here to stay on the Storey Creek event calendar.

Played on Canada Day, teams of four are challenged by a unique and fun-filled format...

Men play from the Blue/White combo tees

Women play from the red tees

Holes 1-6

Net Best Ball – Best two scores from four

Players receive 85% Handicap

Each player plays their own ball as in regular strokeplay.

Players record their gross scores in the row next to their name. Holes will be ‘dotted’ to show player stroke holes.

The two best net scores from each hole are recorded below the Par and Pace of Play rows.

The Wrinkle: Each player has to have two scores count towards the best net.

Holes 7-12

Modified Chapman Alternate Shot

60/40% Handicap

The four person team is divided into two, two person teams. Players on row one and two on the scorecard are a team, as are players three and four. Each player hits their drives. Your partner hits your ball from where the drive came to rest as you hit theirs. After two hits a decision is made and the chosen ball is played into the hole by alternate shot.

The scores are entered on row one and three.

The Wrinkle: On Hole 10, players are only able to use one golf club for the whole hole.

*On par 3's players make a decision on who's ball to choose after one hit.

Holes 13-18

Scramble 25/20/15/10% Handicap

Players reform as a team of four. Everyone drives before deciding the best position to play the second shot from. Each player plays from here and again chooses the best position for the third. This continues until the ball is in the hole.

The scores are entered on row one.

The Wrinkle: All players must choose a minimum of one drive and HOLE one putt

Registration includes green fees (for non-members), meal and draw and competitive prizing.

Apologies - only those teams with a current Golf Canada index are eligible for competitive prizing. (There will be lots of draw prizes).

As you can see, teams really get into the spirit of Canada Day and there are prizes for the best dressed team!

The Powers/Farren team exhibited the same level of madness we have come to love and expect from them during last summers event.

After registering, players need to book their tee time. The organiser is able to register up to four golfers, pay for their own registration, reserve the tee time and send an invoice to the other three players. Simply choose that option in your shopping cart.

Marty Smith, our F&B Manager will email each participant menu choices a week before the event, so that Chef Dan can order and then prepare the meals for each players return from the course. Please ensure you complete each players email address correctly at registration.

As we did last year, we plan on providing a complimentary food/drinks station for players during their round.
