Format:

18 holes of individual stroke play. Players will play from the Blue tee markers wherever they are situated (see Yardage Information). The low individual scores will advance to the 32nd California Senior Amateur Championship at Red Hill Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga, November 6-8, 2023. The number of spots available at each qualifying site will be determined based on the total number of entrants and the final field at each site. The final number of spots will be available from the Committee on the day of qualifying.

 

Competition Schedule:

The first starting time is at 8:00 AM off Holes #1 and #10. Players should be at the first tee immediately following the group in front of them.  Please do not congregate near the first tee. Pairings and Starting Times will be posted on Wednesday, September 27th.

 

Practice Round Information:

Practice rounds are available to players at the Palo Alto Rate anytime, any day. Please call the pro shop (650) 856-0881 and say that you are a player for this qualifier, to ensure that you get the right rate.   

 

Food and Beverage Availability:

Baylands Cafe will be open at 7:00 AM. Outside alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

 

Practice Facilities:

The driving range will be open at 7:00 AM. Range balls can be purchased at the player’s expense from Baylands GL.

 

Player Cart Information:

Golf carts are optional at the player’s expense. Cart fee is $20 per person. A maximum of two carts per group is permitted. Spectator carts are prohibited.

 

ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION

 

Rules Information:                                       

The Rules of Golf effective January 2023 is in effect and are supplemented by the 2023 CGA Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site. It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.

 

Scoring:

Players must download the USGA TM app (or GolfGenius). At least one player in the group will be assigned to keep scores for all players in the group. A scorecard will be provided by the starter and will be the official scorecard. The electronic scoring is unofficial and is used for live leaderboard purposes only.

 

Deciding Ties:

All ties for the final qualifying spots and/or position of alternates will be broken by the USGA recommended method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures, Section 5A(6)).

 

Prohibition on Certain Types of Shoes:                 

The Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-7.
