Players will be allowed to practice on the Red Course until 4PM, on Monday February 20th

REFUND POLICY

A) No refund. 

B) Entry fees are transferable only if communicated before February 19th, 2023 at 5PM ET. 

Disqualification 

Any player that is disqualified from the championship, before, during, or after the competition(s), for any reason, will not be reimbursed for their entry fee. 

Note: If a player wishes to cancel their registration it is very important to do so online because it is the only way to monitor the date of the cancellation.

ADVICE

Caddies

Players are not allowed to use a caddie. If a player has a coach, he must not give any advice to his player during the 18-hole round and the coach must stay outside the course.

Advice 

Unless the player is in a team competition, he must not relieve any advice from anyone on or outside the course. (See penalty statement in Rules of Golf: R.10) 

Partner Standing Behind Player

In a team competition, the partner may stand behind his partner. 

CODE OF CONDUCT 

PopStroke is committed to providing an environment that is free of discrimination, harassment, and intimidation for players, employees, and spectators.

Players, employees, and spectators are all reminded that an acceptable standard of behavior is expected in all areas of the PopStroke facility, at all times. 

Members, guests, and visitors are all reminded that an acceptable standard of behavior is expected, in all areas of the Club and course, at all times and that upon entering the premises, all competitors, guests, and visitors have given their consent to be bound by both the restrictions and penalties which may be imposed for any breach of the club's standards or serious misconduct in failing to meet the standards set in this Code of Conduct.  

PLAYER'S CODE OF CONDUCT

 

On the course: As a reminder, under USGA Rule of Golf 1.2, All players are expected to play in the spirit of the game. 

All golfers must:

- Avoid slow play

- Adhere to the PopStroke dress code

- Demonstrate fair play both off the course

- Always show the necessary respect to fellow golfers, which incorporates; no shouting on the course, no misuse of equipment (ie. throwing clubs in frustration, etc.), no aggressive behavior, or taking performance-enhancing drugs.

- Conduct yourself in a sportsmanlike manner and do not knowingly cheat, or disrespect employees, officials, or fellow players. 

- Mobile phones must be switched to silent on the golf course.

In the Clubhouse: 

- Any form of discrimination, harassment, or intimidation is regarded as unacceptable behavior. 

- Consumption of excessive quantities of alcohol is not permitted by law.  Please do not be offended if service is interrupted. 

- The use of foul or abusive language such as swearing has no place in the clubhouse and any member heard using unacceptable or offensive language will be asked to either stop or leave the premises.  Where someone is noticed to be consistently using bad language after being warned may be suspended by PopStroke. 

- Smoking or the use of cigarettes or e-cigarettes is not permitted on PopStroke premises (indoor, or outdoor).

- The taking of illegal substances will incur immediate suspension of play at PopStroke. 

- Be considerate towards others when using your mobile phone in the clubhouse. 

 

Note: Whilst fully acknowledging that adult "banter" contributes to creating a healthy atmosphere, these rules are designed to safeguard others who find such banter offensive or intimidating.  This Code of Conduct is not intended to create a bureaucratic, regulatory environment, but rather to promote and enhance our Organization's values. 

A person engaging in any behavior that may be detrimental to the game of golf or to the Organization is in breach of the Code of Conduct and should be reported to the Club Captain.

It is in the best interest of the game that such behavior is reported, and all players, members, and members of the public are encouraged and have a duty to report such behavior. 

 

Disciplinary Committee:

PopStroke will appoint a Disciplinary Committee to oversee the complaints procedure seen in this policy and to conduct investigations, hearings, and impose penalties within the guidelines set up in this policy.

The Committee will be made up of: 

- Director of the Tournament 

- Director of Rules and Competition

The Disciplinary Committee will be responsible for implementing this policy in a fair and impartial manner. 

 

Complaints and Protests:
Complaints may be made by any person including a competitor, visiting guests, staff, other associated golf members, and members of the public. 

Complaints must be made to the Committee.

Once received, the Committee will determine the offense, and grade it in accordance with Section Grading of complaints below.  The Committee will then take the following actions; 

1. If the matter is Grade 1, of a minor nature, the Committee will discuss the complaint with the person(s) involved and deal with the complaint by either dismissing the complaint or dealing with it by way of the first step in Appendix 2 whereupon the matter will be closed;

2. If the matter is Grade 1, but the person involved has already had step one of Appendix 2, then the Committee will discuss the complaint with the person(s) involved and either dismiss the complaint or deal with it by way of the second step in Appendix 2;

3. If the matter is Grade 2 or 3 offense, or involves a Grade 1 suspension or expulsion or expulsion, the Committee will carry out a preliminary investigation and gather all the facts of the complaint as is reasonably available within seven days from the receipt of the Complaint notice.  This may incle speaking to the accused person and getting a written report from that person.

The Committee will be responsible for keeping all parties involved informed about the complaints process. 

 

Grading of Complaints

All complaints and charges are to be graded 1 to 3 with 1 being the lightest grading and 3 being the most serious.  This is done by reference to Appendix 1 and the following notes. 

The Committee is required to determine the grain of the offense.  The grading allocated will determine the action to be taken and the potential penalty a player may receive.  Therefore, consistency of grain across offenses is important and it is a requirement that records are kept supporting the grading process. 

On some occasions, the Committee may not recommend grading because of the seriousness of an incident.

 

SPECTATORS' CODE OF CONDUCT

 

During the Competition... 

- No advice is to be given to the payer(s) during the tournament round(s).

- Make sure to avoid all communication, verbal & non-verbal, which may be construed by others as advice.

-Try to always avoid distracting competitors.

-Mobile phones must be switched to silent on the golf course.

Regarding the Rules of Golf

-Allow PopStroke officials to administer rulings.  You will be brought into a situation ONLY if the referee asks you.

-We encourage players to familiarize themselves with the Rules of Golf and the supplementary local rules specific to the actual competition. 

- Familiarize yourself and adhere to the host facility's dress code.  Some facilities may not allow jeans, t-shirts, sandals, etc.
