IMPORTANT:  Participants must first register in the MSGA Tournament Directory to play in any MSGA event (see instructions at the bottom of this page).  This is a one-time registration, and is for the JUNIOR who is playing, NOT the parent who is applying on behalf of the junior.  Each child needs to register separately.  If your child has registered before, sign in from the menu above.

Event Fee

Online registration fee is $30.  Registration opens April 1.  There will be no entry fee to play in the State Junior Championship in Helena.

 

Note:  Entry deadline for this event is June 8.  No entry refunds will be allowed after this date.

 

Your entry will be confirmed by email.  Unless you have an entry confirmation, you are not officially entered in the tournament.  No entries will be accepted at Valley View Golf Club.  A list of confirmed players will be posted on this page (from menu > Players).

Eligibility

Open to all junior boy and girl golfers who are a resident of Montana (attend a Montana School) and who have not reached the age of 19 or attended college by June 19.

 

MSGA Membership (with a GHIN®#) is encouraged, but not required.  Junior MSGA Memberships are free for under 19.  Apply through your local club, or contact the MSGA at 1-800-628-3752, ext 1, or support@msgagolf.org.  Online registration is available for some clubs (see www.msgagolf.org/course-search).

 

Participants in this Qualifier must reside in the region that includes these District #3 clubs:

Competition:

 

Tournament Format

Stroke Play.  18-hole tournament.  If not exempted, players must first participate in a District Qualifier.  Ages 14-18 will play from the same set of tees.  Ages 13 & under will play from shorter tees.  Low 4 boy and 4 girl contestants in 3 age categories (13 and under, 14-15, and 16-18) will move on to the State Championship. Top winners of the State Championship (ages 14-18) advance to the Junior Americas Cups, Montana-Alberta Cup, and Junior World, and will be notified of advancement.  

 

Exemptions 

Note:  IF YOU ARE EXEMPT, YOU MUST STILL APPLY FOR A DISTRICT QUALIFIER AND PAY THE ENTRY FEE.  Please note in the application whether you will be playing in your qualifier or not.  An exemption list (top winners from select tournaments) is posted at msgagolf.org/state-junior-championship

 

Tee Times

Tee times will start at 2:00 pm.  Please arrive early to check in.  Tee Times will be emailed, texted, and posted to this page by June 10.  If you would like to receive a text with your tee time, please provide your cell# during registration.
