2023 Women’s State, Mid, Senior, and Super Senior Amateur Championships

Event Fee

Online registration fee is $230, which includes Thursday evening Player Social and Friday evening Player Banquet, and $5 non-refundable credit card fee.  Cart fee is $60 (1 seat, 3 days).  Note: Super Senior Divison online registration fee is $180, which includes player banquet & party, and a $5 non-refundable credit card fee.  Cart fee is $40 (1 seat, 2 days).  Complimentary club storage will be available for all players.  Registration opens April 1.

 

Note:  Entry deadline for this event is July 17, or when field is filled.  No entry refunds will be allowed after this date.

 

Your entry will be confirmed by email.  Unless you have an entry confirmation, you are not officially entered in the tournament.  No entries will be accepted at Green Meadow Country Club.  A list of confirmed players will be posted on this page (from menu > Players).

 

Requirements:

 

You must be a legal resident of Montana, a current member of the Montana State Golf Association, and have a maximum established Handicap Index® of 40.0.  Contestants without an MSGA Member Number (GHIN®#) will not be accepted.  Your online application will serve as your testament of Montana citizenship.  Entries are open to amateur female players.

 

Eligibility

State Amateur:  No age requirement.

Mid Amateur:  Must be at least 30 yrs old by 7/27/23.

Senior Amateur:  Must be at least 55 yrs old by 7/27/23.

Super Senior Amateur:  Must be at least 70 yrs old by 7/27/23.

 

Competition:

 

Tournament Format

Stroke Play.  Players will be flighted based on Handicap Index®; 54-hole tournament played at Scratch.  Handicap revision cutoff is July 18.  Note: Super Senior Division will play 36 holes on the first 2 days of the competition.  State Am yardage will be 5800-6000, Mid Am yardage 5600-5800, Senior Am yardage 5100-5300, and Super Senior Am yardage 4900-5100.

Tee Times

Tee times will be emailed, texted, and posted to this page by July 20.  If you would like to receive a text with your tee time, please provide your cell# during registration.

 

Practice Round and Check In

Player is responsible for cost of practice round, cart, and range balls, available for a nominal fee.  Beginning July 1, you may call (406) 442-5750, ext 1, to schedule your practice round.  Players will check in at Green Meadow Country Club on July 26.

 

Regulations, Personal Appearance
Distance measuring devices are permitted per USGA Local Rule (Decision 14-3/0.5).  No metal or ceramic spikes permitted - soft spikes will be mandatory.  Players are required to wear proper golf attire.  

 

Push Carts and Caddies

Push carts and caddies are allowed. However, there is no extra seat in the cart for a caddie, unless an empty seat is available and paid for at the club.


Rules of Competition
The USGA Rules of Golf will govern play.  The MSGA Tournament Committee, whose decision will be final, will settle questions.  The competition will be deemed closed when the winners’ awards have been presented.  The lowest 54-hole score in the State Am, Mid Am, and Senior Am divisions, and the lowest 36-hole score in the Super Senior Am division, will be the 2023 Champions.  Awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places in all flights.  Ties will be settled using the Modified USGA (18,9,6,3,1) method, except divisional champions are determined by a sudden death playoff.  A complete Rules sheet will be posted and emailed to players the week before the tournament.

 

Schedule
Thursday, July 27: 1st round - 18 holes; Player Social.  Friday, July 28: 2nd round - 18 holes; Player Banquet.  Saturday, July 29: Final round - 18 holes; Awards presentation following competition.
