IMPORTANT: Both players on your team must first register in the MSGA Tournament Directory to play in any MSGA event (see instructions at the bottom of this page). This is a one-time registration. Event Fee
Online registration fee is $305 is per team, which includes two rounds of golf and lunch. A $5 non-refundable credit card fee is included. Cart fee is $80 per team. Registration opens April 1.
Note: Entry deadline for this event is September 6, or when field is filled. No refunds will be allowed after this date.
Your entry will be confirmed by email. Unless you have an entry confirmation, you are not officially entered in the tournament. No entries will be accepted at Missoula Country Club. A list of confirmed players will be posted on this page (from menu > Players).
Requirements:
Both members of your team must be legal residents of Montana and current members of the Montana State Golf Association. Contestants without an MSGA Member Number (GHIN®#) will not be accepted. Your online application will serve as your testament of Montana citizenship. Entries are open to male and female players.
Eligibility
Men's Division: Maximum team Handicap Index® total of 36.0.
Women's Division: Maximum team Handicap Index® total of 48.0.
Mixed Division: Maximum team Handicap Index® total of 40.0.
Competition:
Tournament Format
This tournament is a 2 Person Better Ball competition, with 3 Divisions (Men, Women, and Mixed). Divisions will be flighted based on team Handicap Index® total. Handicap revision cutoff is September 7. Gross and Net prizes in each Division. Men's tee yardage will be 6,400-6,600 and Women's tee yardage will be 5,400-5,600.
Field Size
120 players, or 60 teams of 2. Men's Division - 32 teams; Women's Division - 12 teams; Mixed Division - 16 teams.
Note: If a Division is filled, a waiting list will be formed. Field sizes will be held until the deadline. If a total of 120 players has not been reached, waitlist players will be added to their respective Divisions. You will be notified by email if you are moved off of the waitlist. If you don't receive an email, check your spam folder or the player list.
Tee Times
Tee times will be emailed, texted, and posted to this page by September 9. If you would like to receive a text with your tee time, please provide your cell# during registration.
Practice Round and Check In
Practice round and cart will be available for a nominal fee. Range balls will be complimentary. Beginning September 2, you may call (406) 251-2751 to schedule your practice round. Players will check in at Missoula Country Club on September 15.
Regulations, Personal Appearance
Distance measuring devices are permitted per USGA Local Rule (Decision 14-3/0.5). No metal or ceramic spikes permitted - soft spikes will be mandatory. Players are required to wear proper golf attire.
Rules of Competition
The USGA Rules of Golf will govern play. The MSGA Tournament Committee, whose decision will be final, will settle questions. The competition will be deemed closed when the winners’ awards have been presented. Ties will be settled using the Modified USGA (18,9,6,3,1) method, except divisional champions are determined by a sudden death playoff. A complete Rules sheet will be posted and emailed to players the week before the tournament.
