Courtesy Practice Rounds: A courtesy practice round is available for all competitors (walking only). Each competitor is limited to one courtesy practice round. Please contact the golf shop and identify yourself as a competitor in the field to schedule a tee time during one of the below available dates. Players will be grouped in 4-somes, which includes one Essex County Club member. Mass Golf requests players to only play one ball during their practice round.

Monday July 2, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Thursday July 5 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Monday July 16, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Tuesday July 17, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

 

** Players not available on the above days may walk the course on Monday July 23 after 1:00 pm

(the practice facilities will not be available to qualifying participants on this day)**

Starting Times:  Round 1 will begin at 7:30 am off both the first and tenth tee. The second round will begin at approximately 12:30 pm off both the first and tenth tee.

 

WithdrawalsPlease advise the Mass Golf office immediately at (774) 430-9016 if you are unable to compete. Failure to advise the Mass Golf office may disqualify the player from future USGA competition. Qualifying & Alternate Spots Available: 3 qualifying spots, 2 alternates

 

Cell Phones: The club requests that the use of cell phones is limited on property. Please be respectful of the clubs wishes to send messages and browse the web ONLY in the locker room and in your personal vehicles. Calls may be made only in personal vehicles or from the phone booth located in the clubhouse. This rule also applies to all spectators, caddies, and guests.

 

Automotive Transportation: The use of automotive transportation will NOT be permitted. Pull/push carts will be permitted.

 

Caddies: Essex CC has a number of caddies available for players to utilize during their practice round and/or the qualifier. Players should contact the golf shop to reserve a caddie in advance. Please note that the caddie fee is a minimum of $100/bag. Players may also bring their own caddie for the practice round and/or qualifying rounds.

 

Distance Devices:  The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.

 

Golf Ball:  The One-Ball Rule will be in effect.  See Appendix I of the Rules of Golf.

 

Competition Tees/ Yardage: The competition will be played from the BLUE tees (Approx  6700 yards; par 70).

 

Golf Shop and Practice Facilities:  Open and available at 6:45am. There will be a shuttle available to and from the driving range. The range is for warm up only and is limited to 150 yards maxiumum/wedges only (there will be Essex CC staff policing this area). Players interested in another range option to work on their longer irons/woods can access the below driving range:

Open and available to players begining at 6:30 am the day of the qualifier

$7/small bucket (approx 40 balls); $11/large bucket (approx. 80 balls)

 

 

 

Food & Beverage: Due to the limited available time in between round 1 and 2, Essex CC will have a lunch buffet available for players, spectators, and caddies to purchase from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the veranda. The buffet will be $15 and include a drink. Please note this is CASH ONLY.

 

Dress CodePlease observe the USGA dress code as stated in the U.S. Amateur Championship  application.

*There will be no regsitration on the day of the event - please report to your scheduled starting hole to recieve local rules, scorecard, etc. 10-15 minutes prior to your starting time.
