SESSION I

FORMAT – 2-man teams, 6 teams in each flight.  Teams are flighted by total team handicap index.  We will play 5 weeks, 5 matches, in round robin scheduling.  The format is team Best Ball, Match Play. 

SCORING/HANDICAPS – There are 10 points available in each match – 1 point per hole and 1 point for winning the match.  Each team will receive .5 points for a tie.  So play out your whole match!  The scorecards will be dotted for handicap strokes of the low player handicap in the group.

*NEW* – Scoring will be done through the Golf Genius (GG) App.  One person in each group will do the scoring on the GG app.  If you don’t have the app on your phone, you should download it from the app store now, so you have it.  We will be using it for other events throughout the season. We will also provide one paper scorecard per group for secondary scoring and verification.  Those scorecards will be pinned on the green boards at 5pm and they will contain the GGID that you will need to input scoring on the GG app.

SUBS – If you need a sub or have secured a sub, you must call or email the Golf Shop by 4:45pm and let us know.  Any male member that has an active handicap may sub for you.  There is no official “sub list”.  Weekday classification members are not eligible.  We will maintain a list of people that let us know that they are available to sub on any given night.  However, we typically do not have many people let us know they are available, so it is up to you to find someone to sub for you.  As an FYI, players in the other night league are eligible to sub.  If you do not find a sub, your partner will play alone against the other team.  If an entire team is a no-show, the opponents will play against par.

PACE OF PLAY – In the past, the pace of play has been a challenge.  We want to remind you that once you are out of a hole, you should pick up and keep moving.  When a putt is conceded, you should pick it up.  We should have no problem playing in 2 hours.  Be at your hole and teeing off at 5:30pm.

*THURSDAY – SPECIAL NOTICE*

We have 84 players, 7 flights, on Thursday night and we will be using the entire course.  This is going to be a challenge every week for us to organize what amounts to an outing every Thursday night.  We hope we can count on your cooperation and assistance:

• Until we have an idea how many people are going to ride on Thursdays, the golf cart preparations are going to be difficult.  The big challenge is that we do not have enough carts for everyone to ride to the range in a half hour window.
• If you are not planning to ride for the match, please consider parking down below and walk to the range to warm up if you can.
• Please pair up on a cart with someone to go to the range.
• It would be incredibly helpful if riders would leave their carts at the cart barn for those that are able to do so.
