2023 Spring Valley Golf Club Women’s Invitational

Derby July Friday 28th, Invitational July 29th 2023

FORMAT:

18 Hole 2 Women Shamble - Each team member hits their tee shot on each hole. The best of the 2 tee shots (as determined by the team) is marked and both players play their 2nd shots from that location. Each team member is then responsible for playing their own ball the remainder of the hole until they hole out. The best individual score is recorded for the team. This process continues through the rest of the holes and an overall score for the team is posted.  Remember that the low gross score and low net score can come from different people. (85% Handicap)

TEES:  Red - Except on Hole #11 and #15, Flights 3, 4, & 5 will play from the Yellow Tee Markers.

START:  8am shotgun

RULES:

1.  USGA rules govern play.  Spring Valley does play the optional lost ball or out of bounds rule.  Distance, then two club lengths into the fairway plus (2) stroke penalty.

2.   The left side of #8 fairway is marked as an Environmentally Sensitive Area; It should be treated as a lateral water hazard, except no one is allowed to enter the area or play their ball from the area.

3.  If a player hits a shot which lands in any hazard on hole #17, she can take her penalty stroke and hit her next golf shot from the drop zone located beyond the creek, back left of the green.

4.   If there is any doubt on how to proceed with play, players should play two balls.  Before signing and returning your scorecard, consult the rules committee for a ruling.

5.  Please keep/write your gross scores across from your name on the scorecard provided.  If you or your partner’s score is not going to matter on a hole, please have that individual pick-up to help maintain the pace of play.

6.  Ties that will determine the gross flight winners will be resolved by a sudden death playoff at the conclusion of play.  All other ties will be broken by using a scorecard playoff.

7. All rounds should be played at a respectable pace.  Groups will be required to keep up with the pace of the group ahead of them.  It is one of the player’s assistants’ roles to enforce the pace of play.

***REMEMBER THAT AT THE CONCLUSION OF PLAY, THERE WILL BE AN AWARD CEREMONY, RAFFLE, AND LUNCH***
