The Gareth Bale Championship – Player Information

16^th and 17^th September

 

Format                            

54 Holes Stroke Play. 36 holes day 1 on the Montgomery, 18 holes day 2 on the Roman Road. There is no cut.

 

Tee Times                            

Rounds 1 and 2 will be published online here and emailed to players on Friday 8^th September. Until that day it will just show the list of players.

 

Round 3 will be published after the completion of round 2. Players will go out in reverse standing order.

 

Parental Consent Form

It is a requirement for a parental consent form to be completed for each participant which can be completed by clicking here. If this is not complete before your first round tee time you may be withdrawn from the event. 

 

Registration                             

 

Players MUST register at the golf academy before play on Saturday 16^th September. This will be open from 7am. Players will receive a goody bag. They are encouraged to wear the Gareth Bale Championship shirt provided in the goody bag on Sunday. 

 

There will be no need to re-register on Sunday for your round, everything will be on the tee.           

 

Withdrawals                   

Players withdrawing should email championships@walesgolf.org

 

On-course Championship Information and Scoring

Live scoring to be completed by the players (one in each group) via smart phones. Players are encouraged to download the Golf Genius app from your app store in advance.

 

Practice Round               

There is no official practice day. Rounds can be booked through Celtic Manor direct by calling 01633 410551.

 

Practice Facilities           

The bottom tier of the driving range is reserved and will be open from 7am. One basket per player per day will be free of charge. There are two putting greens and a chipping green located to the right of the golf academy.

Caddies & Spectators      

Caddies are NOT permitted. Spectators welcome.

 

Catering                          

Monty’s will be open for players from 7am at the players own expense. This will also be open throughout the days of the event.

 

Lunch will be provided for players on Saturday between rounds.

Clubhouse & Pro Shop    

Open 1 hour prior to the start of each day’s play.

Presentation                   

Following the conclusion of play on Sunday 17th September where Gareth Bale will be in attendance. Prizes for Leading Boy, Leading Girl, top 3 competitors and best net. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible!
