Event Format 

 

Format: Flighted Stroke Play 

 

Chapter members are invited to test their competitive skills at our annual Chapter Championship.

 

There will be 5 flights of Individual Stroke Play based on your Golf Canada handicap index. Low Gross and Low Net prizes will be awarded.

 

Flights

 

LPGA Amateurs Flights

 

Participants will compete in flights based on their Golf Canada handicap index as of the handicap cut-off date (Sept. 8, 2023). If you are new to this event, the handicap factor means that you will be playing with, and competing against, players of similar ability which can be less intimidating if you have not played in the event before. We plan to use the following handicap index ranges:


00.0 - 10.0    Championship Flight
10.1 – 17.0   First Flight
17.1 – 24.0   Second Flight
24.1 – 32.0   Third Flight
32.1 – 40.4   Fourth Flight *

 

* Any participants with handicap above 40.4 will play using a handicap index of 40.4

 

Playing Handicaps will be based on a 95% Handicap Allowance.

  • Open to members of the Waterloo Chapter. Participants must be members in good standing as of the date of the competition.
  • All participants must have a current Golf Canada Handicap Index as of the handicap cut-off date (September 8, 2023 9:00 p.m.), and have posted a minimum of 36 holes posted in the current playing season.

 

Registration Fees

 

$100 per player

Fee includes: 1 round of tournament play with double occupancy cart (mandatory); player gift; and Championship awards. 

Note:  There is a reduced price of $61.75 for Rockway members.

Registration Opens - Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM

Handicap Cut-off Date - Friday, September 8, 2023 9:00 p.m.

Registration Closes - Saturday, September 09, 2023 at 12:00 PM

 

 

Chapter Championship will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023

 

  • Registration for the tournament at Rockway opens at 10:00 (inside the club house to the left of the bar)
  • A players meeting will be held at 10:15 (review of basic rules) - please review information in the Players Documents tab
  • Tee times start at 11:10 (tee times posted under the tee sheets tab)
  • All players will use the forward tees (red) - Yardage is 4834
