Plan to join us for a great day on the Magnolia course as we play the "Ryder Cup" with the traditional Europe vs. USA teams, with "modified" Ryder Cup formats. Each team will have a captain who will be responsible for determining the partners and line-ups for each individual match.

Payout: $10 to the winning Team (Europe or USA) AND $10 to the winners of the individual matches. These will be the only payouts. No closest to the pin or low scores.

Please note that this event has a 48 hour cancellation requirement. "No shows" forfeit the point and will be charged the entry fee.

Format:

  • This will be an 18 hole "match play". All players will be formed into 2-man teams and will play from the GOLD tees (Red/Green tee players will tee from Red/Green) (one 2-man team from Europe versus one 2-man team from USA). The front 9 (holes 1-9) will be a 2-man "Best Ball" format and the back 9 (holes 10-18) will be a 2-man "Scramble" (no required drives!). Your 2-man team will receive 25% of your total team GOLD/RED/GREEN TEE handicap for your match.
  • The winning team of each match will earn one (1) point for the overall Ryder Cup contest. In the case of a tie, ½ point will be awarded to each team.
  • You will be notified via Blast on Wednesday, September 6 of your assigned team and team dress.

PMGA Annual Putting Championship

Holly Putting Green

Starts at 3:00 pm

(Following the Ryder Cup and Lunch)

Put Your Putter to the Test!!

Format - 9 Hole Match Play Bracketed Elimination.

Entry fee - $5

Prize Distribution - Pro Shop credit as follows: 1st Place - 40%, 2nd Place - 30%, Third Place - 15%, Fourth Place - 15%

Details: The Championship will be a bracketed match-play elimination tournament (similar to the Holly Challenge). No handicap strokes will be provided. Players will be bracketed based on a random drawing. An uneven number of players will result in a bye for that round determined by the order drawn in the bracket.

A nine hole "course" will be laid out on the Holly putting green. There will be a shotgun start on all 9 holes. There may be multiple shotgun starts depending on the number of entrants.

A coin toss will determine who will putt first on the starting hole, then opponents will alternate putting first on each following hole.

Opponents may watch each other putt. Players winning their matches will continue through the bracket until the ultimate PMGA Putting Champion is determined. Matches tied after 9 holes will have a one hole putt-off. The competitor closest to the holes wins the match. In the event of a tie in the Championship match, the competitors will play a maximum 3 extra holes to determine the match winner. If still tied after the 3 extra holes, another hole will be played with the person whose ball is closest to the hole declared the Champion.

Additional details, if required, will be provided at the time of the event.
