THE 27TH GERALD MICKLEM CUP

FRIDAY 13TH – SATURDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2024

 

This tournament is held in honour of our Past President, Gerald Micklem, and is open to male amateur golfers over the age of 35. A 54 hole event that qualifies towards the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

 

TERMS OF COMPETITION

  1. The competition will be 54 hole scratch medal over the New Course with 36 holes on the Friday followed by a cut for the top 20 and ties to play on Saturday morning.
  2. The winner will be the player with the lowest aggregate score. In the event of any tie there will be a sudden death playoff on the Saturday afternoon (1st & 18th holes).
  3. Playing partners and tee off times will be allotted by the Club. All players will start one round from the 11th tee.
  4. Riding in motorised carts is not allowed.
  5. Players will be provided with a lunch.
  6. A practice round is available after 3pm on Thursday 12th September 2024. No practice rounds or practice at the club will be permitted before this time. Tee times must be booked through Golf Genius once the draw has been performed.

 

ENTRY DETAILS

  1. Entries will be accepted only from male Amateur golfers whose handicap index does not exceed 3.4 under the WHS.
  2. Players must have reached the age of 35 before Sunday 11th August 2024. (Age 50 for Prestige Bowl.)
  3. In the event of applications exceeding 60 the higher handicap players will be balloted out immediately after the closing date.
  4. Entries open via Golf Genius on Wednesday 1st May 2024.
  5. Entries close on Sunday 11th August 2024.
  6. The entry fee is £140.00 per person. This will only be taken once competitors are confirmed in the draw. 
  7. The Committee reserves the right to accept or refuse or subsequently reject any entry without giving reasons for its decision.

 

RESULTS

  1. The winner will hold the title for one year and his name will be updated on the honour board along with engraved on the Gerald Micklem Cup which will be retained by the Club.
  2. The winner will receive an engraved Armada dish.
  3. Vouchers will be given to players in the first six places.
  4. The Prestige Bowl will be awarded to the player over the age of 50 with lowest aggregate score. They will receive an engraved Armada dish.
  5. No player to win more than one prize.
