
Rules of Play
Rock Hill Country Club
Format: Stroke Play - Play 5, Count 4
Tees: Eagle Marker w/ Pink Flags
1. All USGA Rules will govern play unless modified by the following Local Rules
2. OUT OF BOUNDS: defined by white Stakes or Lines at ground level.
* Holes with out of bounds, 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18*
a. Roads are considered out of bounds. The starting edge of the road closest to the hole starts OB, unless otherwise marked.
b. #7: A ball that crosses the cart path behind the green is out of bounds.
c. #18: A ball that comes to rest on the patio of the clubhouse is out of bounds.
3. PENALTY AREAS: When a penalty area is defined on one side, it extends to infinity. When a penalty area is connected to out of bounds, the penalty area extends to and coincides with out of bounds.
4. ACCIDENTAL MOVEMENT OF A BALL ON A PUTTING GREEN:
a. When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, opponent, or any of their equipment.
b. The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1.
LOCAL RULES
1. For a ball that goes in the water on #12, drop zone is located on the red tee box to the left of the playing tee box.
2. Drainage Ditch #10: On the far-right side of hole #10 near the road is a drainage ditch. The local rule provided by the club is that they play that as causal water. We will adopt this rule as well.
3. Beautification Area #18: Back left of green, no relief. Play as a lost ball.
4. Power Lines: refer to NCAA Golf Local Rules and Terms of Competition. Local Rule F-22-3 (Pg. 488 of the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf (Decisions Book)).
5. Immovable Obstructions: Exposed boulders in the fairway on holes #13, 14, & 15 (Rocks in fairway)
6. To the right of the green on #1 is a small drainage area. That will be played as Ground Under Repair.
7. Tournament Scoring will be located between the Golf Shop and the 19th Hole
