Arranging Matches

 

Please note for arranging matches the players whose name appears first in the draw is expected to contact their opponent and arrange a starting time in accordance with the Programme. If one of the teams is unable to contact the other, they may request the Golf Committee to allot a time for the match. If neither party attempts to contact the other, the match will be declared a no result. The result of the match is final when it has been posted on the draw on the website.

Pairs Fourball Best Ball Matchplay with handicaps

 

Played from the Green tees

 

Handicap allowance of 90% (strokes taken from the lowest handicap player)

 

To calculate the handicap allowance of 90%, players are to take 90% allowance of course handicaps and then 100% difference between teams.

 

Here’s an example to illustrate the calculation:

 

Player A has a Course Handicap of 5. 

Player B has a Course Handicap of 14. 

Player C has a Course Handicap of 20. 

Player D has a Course Handicap of 18. 

 

All handicaps are multiplied by 90% (or 0.9) – Please note calculations that result in .5 and above get rounded up and anything below .5 is rounded down.

 

Player A: 5 times 0.9 = 4.5 rounded to 5 

Player B: 14 times 0.9 = 12.6 rounded to 13 

Player C: 20 times 0.9 = 18.0 

Player D: 18 times 0.9 = 16.2 rounded to 16 

 

Determine strokes by allowing the full difference between the lowest handicap player and all others. 

Player A receives zero strokes due to being the lowest handicap. 

Player B receives 13-5 = 8 

Player C receives 18-5 = 13 

Player D receives 16-5 = 11 

 

During the match, Player B will receive 8 strokes, Player C will receive 13 strokes, and Player D will receive 11 strokes on the holes indicated by the Stroke Index on the scorecard. The team’s score for each hole will be the lower net score between the two partners after their handicap strokes have been applied.
