Schedule of Events  

Monday, June 4 – First Round

Tuesday, June 5 – Second Round

 

Groupings & Starting Times

Starting times begin at 8:00 a.m. EDT for both rounds. The field is paired in divisions from the Open Division through the Legends Division. For the first round the Open division will be the first group to start. For the final round, all divisions will be reversed in order of play with the Open Division occupying the final tee times.

 

Practice Round

There is not an official practice.  The regular course fees apply.

Registration 

There is no formal registration.  Please report to the starting tee at least 5 minutes prior to your assigned starting time.  At the starting tee you will be provided the Notice to Competitors, Hole Location sheet, Pace of Play Policy and any daily information.  There is no call to the tee; it is the player’s responsibility to arrive on time.

 

Food & Beverage:

A player’s lunch is not included in this event. The club will have food and beverage services available.  Cash or credit cards are acceptable forms of payment.  Outside food and beverages are not allowed at the facility.  

 

General Information:

The Rules of the United States Golf Association govern play.  This information sheet, the Kentucky Golf Rules Hard Card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf.  Local Rules of the host course do not apply.  The KGA Tournament Committee, who are charged with conducting this championship, shall settle all questions.  Reference to the Rules and Appendix I may be found in the 2016-19 Rules of Golf book.  Unless otherwise noted the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is:  2 Strokes.

 

Format:

36 Holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play.  The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole.  If one partner fails to complete the play of a hole there is no penalty.  Note:  Rule 31-3 requires the gross score of whichever partner’s scores is to count be individually identifiable; otherwise the side is disqualified.

 

Tee Assignments:

All team members must play from the assigned division tees, no matter their age.

Open Division – Black Tees

Mid-Senior & Senior – Blue Tees

Masters – White Tees

Legends – Gold Tees

 

Pace of Play Guidelines and Procedures:

Rule 6-7 states in part, players must play without delay and in accordance with any pace of play guidelines the Committee may establish and thereafter prescribes penalties for slow play.  A time par will be established for this competition and it is the player’s responsibility to stay in position.  If a group becomes out of position, it will be subject to timing and possible penalty.

 

Distance Measuring Devices:

Distance Measuring Devices are allowed for its championships.

 

Player Carts:

Golf carts are permitted and included in the entry fee.  A maximum of two carts per group are allowed. 

 

Caddies:

Caddies are permitted, however you are responsible for making your own arrangements for a caddie.

 

Practice Range:

The practice range opens prior to the first starting time, weather permitting.  Range balls will be set up at the practice range and are complimentary for competitors only before the stipulated round or a play-off

 

Play-off:

In the event of a tie for first place in the Open Division, a sudden-death hole by hole playoff will be conducted to determine the winner. The starting hole and time shall be announced at the scoreboard immediately after the Committee has verified the results of the qualifier. A tie in all other divisions and places in all divisions will be broken using the USGA method of matching scorecards.

 

Close of Competition:

The championship shall be deemed to have closed when all scores have been returned and the committee has announced the results.
