PLAYER INFORMATION


ELIGIBILITY
This invitation is open to active high school junior golfers with an excellent competitive history.

FORMAT, TIES & DIVISIONS

  • Format: 36 holes, individual stroke play.
  • Ties: Ties for the winner are broken by sudden-death playoff.
  • Divisions: There is a division for boys and girls.

RULES
The USGA Rules of Golf will govern play. Andrew Hickey (NYSGA staff) will serve as the lead Rules Official with a team of trained volunteers available to support players and answer questions.


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

  • 8:30am................... Round 1 (Shotgun)
  • 12:30-1:15pm......... Lunch
  • 1:30pm................... Round 2 (Shotgun)
  • 6:00pm................... Awards Ceremony

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES

The club's driving range, practice putting greens, and short hole are available for use by contestants. The driving range is limited in distance to 230 yards, please do not play any shot that could clear the protective net at the end of the range.

 

LIVE SCORING USING GOLF GENIUS
One player from each group will be required to enter unofficial scores for each player into the Golf Genius app. Please download this app before your arrival at the golf course. The code will be provided on your scorecard.

CONTESTANT LUNCH & ON-COURSE REFRESHMENTS

A complimentary lunch is provided for contestants between rounds. Snacks and refreshments are staged on the course for players during both rounds.

 

PUSH CARTS
The use of push carts are permitted, a limited number are available through the professional shop. The use of a caddie or golf cart is not permitted.

 

AWARDS CEREMONY
Immediately upon the completion of the final round there will be a brief awards ceremony on the patio overlooking the 18th putting green.

 

SPECTATORS

Spectators, including parents and coaches, are welcome to watch the competition on the entire golf course.  Spectators are to stay “outside the ropes”, meaning areas well outside of play. Spectators are not permitted to walk alongside a player, nor are they permitted to give instructions or advice. Golf attire is requested of spectators, no denim or cargo shorts. Cell phone use must be limited to texting, phone calls may be taken in vehicles or phone booths located in the clubhouse.

 

PLAYER LUNCHES & SNACKS
Complimentary snacks for contestants will be available on the course during play. Lunch is provided for all players and guests between rounds.

 

CADDIES & CARTS
No caddies or riding carts are allowed – you may bring your own pull cart, none are available through the pro shop.

 

PROFESSIONAL SHOP
The pro shop is open to contestants and spectators. Credit cards and cash are accepted.

 

CELL PHONES
The use of cell phones is limited to texting and use for Live Scoring. Phone calls are to be made in vehicles or phone booths located in the clubhouse.

 

ATTIRE & CODE OF CONDUCT
Onondaga requests golfers and participants to wear traditional golf clothes (no denim or cargo shorts).  For boys, golf shirts must be always tucked in. Golf hats are not to be worn in the clubhouse.

 

There will be NO tolerance of foul language, club throwing or slamming, and poor sportsmanship.

 

LOCKER ROOMS
Participants can use the locker facilities to put on their golf shoes and dress.


CLUB VOLUNTEERS
Club members, playing the role of Marshals, will be on the course to assist with speed of play, rules questions/issues, and general etiquette.
