Player Information

Registration Opens March 17, 2020 at 8 pm
Registration Deadline April 27 at 11:59 pm
Entry Fee(s) $40 per player
Eligibility NC junior golfers who are in grades 6-8 (classes of 2024, 2025 and 2026).  Open to public, private and home schooled juniors.
Acceptance Entry is open to the first 72 juniors (regardless of gender) to register on line beginning at 8 pm on March 17.  Entry fee will be collected at time of registration.  A $20 administrative fee is deducted from all refunds.
Format The championship is conducted at 18-holes of stroke play with a maximum score of 8 on any hole.  All players, regardless of gender, will play from the same tees.  Each team must return two individual 18-hole scores to qualify for the team championship.  Team and individual competitions are run concurrently.
Coaches Each school may designate one person to serve as the team coach.  Coaches may give advice to their players between holes but on during a hole.
Divisions All competitors compete in division based on gender.  There are no age divisions.
Team Composition All members of a team must attend the same middle school.  A middle school student I s defined as a student who is in grades 6-8 during the current school year.
Team Entry Process All juniors register as an individual.  TYGA will combine those juniors from the same middle school to form a team.  If more than 4 players from the same middle school register, TYGA will contact the school and the school's coach will determine the juniors who will represent the school.  The juniors not selected may compete as an individual and their score will not count toward the team score.  Schools may be represented by a maximum of one team.
Starting Times

Round one starts with a 12:30 pm double tee.

Starting times will  be posted 7 days in advance of tournament date.

Course Setup All competitors (girls and boys) will play from 5,471 yard (5 tees) par 72.

Electronic Measuring Devices Players may use an approved measuring device during this event.
Push/Pull Carts Push carts are allowed.
Caddie Information Caddies are not allowed.
Spectator and Parent Policy Spectator Information: Spectator carts are allowed at a rate of $25 per cart. Spectator carts are restricted to the cart path at all times.
Parent Policy: Parents are encouraged to follow their child(ren). We do ask that all parents remain on the cart path (roughs if no cart paths), unless assisting with the search for a golf ball.
Withdrawal and Refund Policy If you cannot compete in the event, you must withdraw from the event by contacting the TYGA office at 910-673-1000 prior to the day of the tournament.  If you do not withdraw properly, you are considered a "no show" and you will be suspended from TYGA events for 1 year.
Refund Policy: A $20 administrative fee will be charged to all withdrawals.
Awards Trophies are awarded to the championship team, all members of the championship team, the individual boys' champion and the individual girls' champion.  The top 5 in the boys' division and the top 5 in the girls' division will be awarded all-state middle school for 2020.
Exemptions The top 5 boys will receive exemptions in to the CGA Dogwood State Junior Boys' Championship.
Tournament of Champions Invitations for the Tournament of Champions will be extended to all division winners in each TYGA one day series event.
