| Eligibility |
Entry is open to any female and male amateur
golfer ages 13 to 18 as of April 18, 2021 from North Carolina with an active USGA GHIN handicap. If you originally created your tournament registration profile without your GHIN number, please contact us with your first and last name and your GHIN Number and we will update your profile. |
| Format |
The tournament format is 36-holes of stroke play. There is no stroke limit. |
| Division |
Boys’ 13-15 and Boys’ 16-18 Girls’ 13-15 and Girls’ 16-18 *TYGA reserves the right to modify each division based on the number of entries. |
| Starting Times |
Round one - 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm Round two - 8:00 am - 11:00 am Starting times will be posted 7 days in advance of tournament date. |
| Course Setup |
Boys will compete from Blue tees (6,620 yards, par 71)Girls will compete from mix of tees (5,400 yards, par 71) |
| Field Size | 72 players maximum (52 boys and 12 girls) |
| Electronic Measuring Devices | Players may use an approved measuring device during this event. |
| Push/Pull Carts | Push carts are allowed and encouraged at all TYGA tournaments. |
| Caddie Information | Caddie are NOT allowed. |
| Spectator and Parent Policy | Spectator Information:
Spectator carts are allowed at a rate of $25 per cart. Spectator carts are
restricted to the cart path at all times. Parent Policy: Parents are encouraged to follow their child(ren). We do ask that all parents remain on the cart path (roughs if no cart paths), unless assisting with the search for a golf ball. |
| Withdrawal and Refund Policy |
If you cannot compete in the event, you must withdraw from the event by
contacting the TYGA office at 910-673-1000 prior to the day of the tournament.
If you do not withdraw properly, you are considered a "no show" and you will be
suspended from TYGA events for 1 year. Refund Policy: A $20 administrative fee will be charged to all withdrawals. |
| Prizes | Medals are awarded to overall champions and each divisional winner, runner-up and second runner-up. |
| Handicap Posting | TYGA will post tournament scores to player's GHIN handicap record. |
| Tournament of Champions | Invitations for the Tournament of Champions will be extended to all division winners in each TYGA one day series event. |
| CGA Exemptions | Top 10 places earn one exemption into either (but not both) NC Junior Boys’ (5 available) or Dogwood State Junior Boys’ (5 available). Those players will be contacted after the tournament and will rank (1-2) their exemption preference. Exemptions are then awarded based on the Sapona Junior finish. Ties will be broken by using round two scores for the USGA method of matching scorecards. |
