2018 Flagstaff Men’s Club Out of Bounds Local Rule
Here is an illustrated explanation of the Out of Bounds Local rule for The Flagstaff Mens Club for 2017.
This rule applies for all rounds EXCEPT major tournaments.
See Illustration below for a graphical explanation of where a player will drop.
The Orange line is the out of bounds boundary on hole 3 at Continental. The Blue, Red and Green lines are examples of shots that ended up out of bounds. Each Color has a corresponding arrow that points to the approximate location in which the player MUST drop.
The Rule explained more thoroughly: If a player hits a ball that comes to rest out of bounds the player must incur a 1 stroke penalty and drop a ball within 1 club length of the location in which the ball crossed the out of bounds perimeter. Player continues to play the hole from this location.
You MAY NOT hit a provisional for a ball believed to be out of bounds. You may NOT hit a second ball if you believe your ball went out of bounds. You DO NOT drop in bounds where you find the ball, you drop where it cross the out of bounds perimeter not where you find the ball!!!!
