Are PHMGA tournaments flighted and how are flights determined?
- Yes, our tournaments are flighted as we want to ensure that you are competing against competitors of similar skills.
- Flights are determined first by the number of competitors. We will have a minimum of 15 individuals/teams on each flight. There is no minimum number of flights, but we will have a maximum of 4 flights (Championship, Presidents, Governors, and Mayor).
- To determine flights, we will group competitors based on their Handicap Index. We will try to make the groups as evenly sized as possible. For example, if we have 76 entrants in a tournament, we will create 4 groups of 19 players each. We will start with the group for the Mayor's flight, which will consist of the 19 players with the highest handicaps. Then we will repeat this process for the other three flights
- Understand that flights are determined based on Handicap Index and not Playing Handicap, someone could have a 10 handicap index that puts them in the presidents flight but because they play from the silver tee's end up with only a 4 playing handicap. Or the opposite is true, a person could have a 5 handicap index that puts them in the Championship flight, but if playing the blue tees they would have a 7 playing handicap

In tournaments how are my playing partners and starting tee boxes determined?
- Your playing partners are determined randomly by the golf genius software with the following rule, you will be playing with other members of your flight.
